HOW IT WORKS

What your points are actually worth

Cashbacks are convenient, but they are usually the weakest use of points. Transferring to an airline or hotel programme can be worth several times more, when the redemption is chosen well.

  1. Price. For partners with an award chart we look up the miles your route and cabin cost, by zone or by flown distance. For the rest we divide your ticket or stay price by the programme's rupee value per point: its own published value where it has one, otherwise a named standard valuation, marked ≈.
  2. Convert. Those partner points become credit card points through the bank's transfer ratio.
  3. Divide. If you add a cash price, dividing it by the card points gives your rupee value per point.
  4. Judge. Around ₹1 is low, ₹2–4 is good and ₹4 or more is excellent.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate the value of my credit card points?

Find the partner miles your trip costs, convert them into credit card points using the bank's transfer ratio, then divide the rupee value of the trip by those card points. This calculator does all three steps for you, using the airline's award chart where we have one.

Why do the same points have different values?

Value depends on how you redeem. Cashbacks usually return a fraction of a rupee per point, while transfers to airline or hotel partners can return several times more when the redemption is chosen well.

Are taxes and fees included?

No. Enter the base fare or room price excluding taxes and fees, so the result compares what the points themselves buy.

What is a good rupee-per-point value?

As a rule of thumb, around ₹1 per point is low, ₹2 to ₹4 is good and ₹4 or more is excellent.

Why is my card not listed?

Only cards with a published transfer ratio to an airline or hotel programme are listed. We add more as ratios are verified.
