The HDFC Bank Infinia Metal Credit Card is one of India’s best-known premium travel and lifestyle cards. But a premium card is only valuable if you actually use its rewards and perks. Here’s what to understand before deciding whether Infinia belongs in your wallet.

₹10 lakhyearly spend to waive the renewal fee

What does Infinia offer?

Reward points on everyday spending

The card earns 5 Reward Points for every ₹150 spent on eligible purchases. Eligible SmartBuy transactions earn accelerated rewards, subject to HDFC’s terms and caps. You also get 12,500 Reward Points as a welcome benefit, and again on each renewal, once the fee is paid and the card is active.

Travel and hotel benefits

  • Lounges: unlimited complimentary domestic lounge access for primary and add-on cardholders, plus international lounges through Priority Pass.
  • Hotels: offers at participating ITC properties, and complimentary Club Marriott membership for the first year.
  • Concierge: help with selected travel and lifestyle requests.

Redeeming your points

Points can be redeemed through HDFC’s channels for:

  • Flights and hotels
  • Airline miles
  • Products and vouchers
  • Statement balance

Their value varies a lot by category. HDFC lists ₹1 per point for flights and hotels on SmartBuy, subject to caps, while products, vouchers and cashback are typically worth noticeably less. What does it cost?

The published joining and renewal fee is ₹12,500 plus applicable taxes. HDFC waives the renewal fee if you spend ₹10 lakh or more in the preceding 12 months. Infinia is a premium card, typically issued by invitation, so eligibility and approval are entirely HDFC’s decision.

Who might benefit most?

WORTH CONSIDERING IF YOU

  • Have substantial eligible annual spending.
  • Book flights and hotels regularly.
  • Will use the lounge and lifestyle benefits.
  • Redeem points for travel, not low-value options.

LESS SUITABLE IF YOU

  • Have modest spending.
  • Rarely travel or use lounges.
  • Would pay the fee without using the benefits.
  • Usually redeem for vouchers or cashback.

MAKE THE REWARDS WORK FOR YOU

A premium card’s value isn’t its headline reward rate. It’s what you actually get after fees, caps, exclusions and the redemptions you choose.

Before applying, check HDFC’s current fee schedule, reward exclusions, redemption caps and eligibility criteria.
